about
A tribute to my grandfather, Mac Holmes, with a cover of one of my favorite songs by him, "Down Damascus Road", featuring the orchestra and choir, with the first ever appearance by Kayla Douglas.
Why did I decide to cover this song? Well, I wanted to thank him for being one of the people who encouraged me to pursue what I'm doing now, which is to make music for those who want a different taste to music than what they're already used to. So, if you're reading this, Mac, then consider this my "thank you" for being such a good sport.
This is my way of repaying you, and allowing the lord to guide you through the hardships that you may face, in every step of the way. I know that he has you by his side, and you will be protected by his presence.
Anyway, for those not under my family tree, I'd still like to thank you for allowing me to do what I love doing for as long as I have. This is my rendition of "Down Damascus Road" by Mac Holmes!
lyrics
well the strom raised and thunder rolled that day
and the blood ran from the cross to the grave
crucifying every thought forever to stay
on the thirteenth the storm has rolled away
I'm looking for the master
tell me where he's gone
they killed the prophets in Jerusalem
he's the master of them all
on the road there's Peter James and John
and they're talking about the future ten
they're talking about what the world will come to know
down damascus road
talk about freedom, down damascus road
go into our nations til everyone is told
join the congregation for the young and for the old
down damascus road
on the road there's Peter James and John
still talking about the future ten's
still talking about what the world will come to know
down damascus road
talk about freedom, down damascus road
go into our nations til everyone is told
join the congregation for the young and for the old
down damascus road
now here comes Peter James and John
and Jesus walking by their side
he was crucified now he's alive
down damascus road
down damascus road
I'm looking for the master
tell me where he's gone
they killed the prophets in Jerusalem
he's the master of them all
down damascus road
I'm looking for the master
tell me where he's gone
they killed the prophets in Jerusalem
he's the master of them all
on the road there's Peter James and John
still talking about the future ten's
still talking about what the world will come to know
down damascus road
down damascus road
down damascus road
